@7.30pm

His memoir Punks and Drunks and Flicks and Kicks was published in 2005. 2025 saw the UK premiere of his second play, The Black Square, written, devised and directed by Strange, with the Portuguese artist Antonio Olaio. Expect a truly memorable performance from Strange as the culmination of tonight’s Groovy Arts Club Night.

The Groovy Arts Club Band as ever, are our hosts. Always creating an energetic & groovy vibe with their songs about Art, Artists & the 1960s/70s: from the Beat Generation to the heart of hip hop, indeed.

Mel & Marcel no strangers to Groovy Arts Club Nights, this beloved Alt-Pop duo based in Manningtree, Essex, perform their own quirky brand of music, with songs about the madness of life as they observe it: from dementia to selfies through to hot flushes & the pointlessness of war – no subject is off limits.

The Lost Weekend: A chance encounter in a North London art gallery resulted in Steve Somerset and Anya Hamilton uniting to back American comedian and musician Dave Hill at his residency at London’s Soho Theatre and a few months later at Download Festival.
